An Event for Growing Families

Last April I was asked to be the family photographer at a new event in Portland designed for growing families to help them navigate parenthood. I was beyond excited to be a part of this new event. It was so smart to have different practitioners all in the same room providing resources to new parents. I was honored to be asked to be there as a Portland newborn & family photographer.

The Parent Trip is the brainchild of Olivia Spitzer of Doula Olivia (who was featured on my blog last year in my Women Warrior series) and Sarah Fuller of Opus Lactation (featured next week on my Women Warrior series —be sure to check back!).

The Parent Trip is a totally free, twice a year event where families can come and meet providers without an appointment. All under one roof and at one time. Olivia & Sarah specifically designed this event to have one provider representing each modality of care for a reason. They are not looking to sell you pregnancy or parenting services. The Parent Trip is designed to help you discover community resources for new parents.

This free event for expecting parents and families of young children is designed so that you can come and meet local practitioners in a low-stakes atmosphere.

The hardest part of being a new parent, is you don’t even know what you don’t know… And The Parent Trip is here to help you navigate parenthood Portland-style. You might find:

A family photographer you love! ?

A chiropractor who specializes in pregnant bodies, postpartum bodies, and infants.

Great parent-focused exercise classes.

Last April was so much fun, that when they reached out to me to participate again in October, my answer was, “absolutely!” I loved not only getting to chat with all of the families who attended. But also with all of the other amazing providers who are a part of this event. And when they asked again for me to participate this April, I of course said YES!

This is such a great event to provide you with pregnancy and parenting resources I’m thrilled to be a part of it.

There are two different events taking place this April, one on the Eastside (where you’ll find yours truly!) and one on the Westside. Below are all of the details. I hope to see you there!

Be sure to make it all the way to the bottom to see photos I took of past Parent Trip events!
