Do you want to know what’s sweeter than seeing a little girl interact with her Mama’s baby bump?
It’s definitely seeing her swoon over her new baby brother!
About 20 days after their dreamy Wildflower Maternity Session, I got to meet the newest addition to the Purington family for his newborn session in my Portland, Oregon home studio. Like a champ, he slept through the entire session. Which allowed us to get so many beautiful posed photographs of him by himself. When I pose babies, I strive for a natural look. You will never find any composite images here. Any pose he is put in is 100 percent completely safe.
And let me just tell you about this adorable baby’s full head of hair. It is Ah. Maaa. Zing!
I hear of that feeling that parents have when expecting their second, third, fourth… child. Is my heart big enough? How will I find space in there for another little one?
But let’s be real. Our hearts have an infinite amount of space in there.
I adore watching the excitement that builds up during a maternity session. Then seeing it transition to so much adoration during a newborn session, is one of the most special things I witness as a maternity and newborn photographer. That twinkle in each family members’ eyes after finally meeting their newest addition, completely smitten with them.
This emotion was palpable during the Purington newborn session. Love was most definitely in the air.
Watching Mabel get real close and cuddly with her new baby brother, certainly beyond precious! And I could just tell that Cynthia and Dan’s hearts expanded a million times over for this new little guy.
Getting individual photos of each family member with their newest addition is something I always strive. I think every family member deserves a chance to cuddle their newest member and dote on them all by themselves. I find parents really love having photos of each of their kiddos together with their newest baby. AND I know each parent wants a little alone time with their baby during newborn photos. Which I strongly encourage.
Plus, I like to think about how much the baby will adore looking back on these images when they are older. I know for me, personally, I love looking back on photos of my siblings, with the proudest looks on their faces, holding me in their arms.
I am pleased to inform you that we were able to get some great shots of Mabel with her new baby brother. While also getting some close ups with each Mom and Dad with their new son.
Working with this sweet family was so much fun and I’m so thankful they chose me to capture their maternity and newborn photos!
Additionally, I was thrilled to create a beautiful custom album for them to forever cherish this magical time in their lives.
After each session, I meet back up with the family to help them choose their images for their newborn album and which images to hang on their walls. Once they have chosen their images, I design the album layout for them and help them design a custom gallery to adorn their walls. They approve the design and sit back, enjoy their new baby snuggles and wait for everything to be delivered to them – by yours truly!
I love creating custom albums for each session. Only the highest quality of products are used to produce albums and wall art, ensuring that they will last for generations to come.
Here are some of my favorites from their session and a quick peek into their linen album that I designed for them.
