Powell Butte Nature Park is easily my favorite place for photo sessions in Portland right now. The glowing light you find up there in the two hours before sunset is spectacular. On a clear day the snow-capped peaks of Mt Hood, Mt Jefferson, Mt St Helens and Mt Adams in the distance look like they’ve been painted in. I recently had the good fortune of being able to go up there with a friend of mine, Jocelyn, and her sister, Briana, so we could get some pictures that they could share with their family. And, with them being young professionals, like myself, I suggested I take some head shots of each of them. The wind was nipping at our necks, but we wrapped up in blankets between shots and continued to have an amazing time while enjoying a gorgeous golden sunset.
Jocelyn and I have developed a beautiful friendship over the past four years. We both like to get crafty, care deeply about the environment, love to shop at second hand stores, and adore cats. I can always rely on Jocelyn to remind me of the importance of friendship and making time outside of work for yourself.
I feel so thankful that I was able to get a glimpse into her and her sister’s bond while we captured some amazing moments between them. Even though I’ve been friends with Jocelyn for 4 years, I haven’t had that many opportunities to just hang out with her and Briana .They were so fun to work with and they kept each other laughing which made for some really amazing photographs.
Saying these two have fun together would be a huge understatement. They certainly share a special bond, and I’m so glad I got a sneak peek into their beautiful sisterhood. Here’s a few of my favorites, enjoy!
