Drip. Drip. Drip. Rain makes a familiar soundtrack for Portland, OR, but when you’re gearing up for an outdoor photo session, it’s not the most comforting of sounds. Regardless, Allyson and her beautiful family were willing to brave the rain so I could capture some gorgeous family photos. And lovely photos they were!
I met Allyson a few weeks ago for coffee. The minute we sat down and started chatting we connected immediately. It was so fun getting to know another local photographer and Allyson was sweet and easy to talk to. We decided to do a photo trade, where I would do some family photos for her and she would photograph my fiancé and me. Win, Win!
On the day of the shoot we met in Portland’s Pearl district. She wanted a more urban feel to her photos and as a portrait photographer in Portland, I was all about it. I was super excited when I saw them all dressed to the nines for their family photos! Her darling daughter had the cutest little tulle skirt and her handsome son looked so dapper with his bowtie and suspenders! Allyson had on a gorgeous navy blue flowy dress and her husband was all decked out in a nice shirt and tie. They all looked amazing and were brilliant in front of the camera. Even though it rained throughout the shoot, we totally made it work and the photos were amazing! Allyson’s family was so fun to work with, and I am so glad I was able to capture the beautiful love they share.
The next day I met with Allyson again, this time so Allyson could take my fiancé and my engagement photos. That, of course, was a ton of fun too. Stay tuned for some photos from that session!
