Nine Month Milestone Photo Session

When chatting about this little guy’s nine month milestone photography session, his mom and I considered  our location options for the family portion of their session. 

We knew we would do the first portion of photos of just him in the studio. But we also wanted a family photo session with all three of them, ideally outside. But it was scheduled for March (right before the stay at home order went into effect) and we didn’t want to worry about it being too cold or rainy. We racked our brains for a location that would  still give us an outdoor feel without us having to worry about the elements. 

And then I had an idea — a greenhouse!  Since neither this family nor I have a greenhouse…I started calling and visiting different places in Portland to see if they would be okay with us coming there for a family photo session.

Thankfully Tony’s Garden Center was more than happy to accommodate us! I visited a few weeks prior to our session and I was immediately impressed with their friendly staff. 

During my preliminary tour I scoped out our exact locations. They have a variety of greenhouses but my absolute favorite was the indoor plant greenhouse. It was full of gorgeous greenery. There were also a few cute displays that I knew would be perfect for the family portion of his milestone photography session.

His mom loved the idea. They first came to my home studio to document his nine month milestone photos. These photos are minimalistic and timeless portraits of just him. (Keep going to see all the photos!)

Then we all headed over to Tony’s Garden Center for an incredible family photo session. You can see this loving family of three surrounded by luscious greenery at the end! 

Every milestone photography session with this family has been so much fun! (You can check out his six month milestone session here.) I can’t believe this little guy will be ONE in a few short months and we’ll be wrapping up their Baby Plan package. It’s been such a joy getting to photograph this darling family every few months.
