After booking, you'll receive my newborn welcome guide, vision boards for your family, and access to my amazing hair and makeup artist who will pamper you on the day of your session. I recommend reaching out early in your second trimester to ensure availability. I only take a limited number of newborn sessions each month.
1. Say Hello
Once you've confirmed that we are the perfect fit to work together, I'll send you a booking proposal. At this time, we'll put a tentative newborn session date on the calendar, about two weeks after your due date. You will also complete your session agreement and invoice for the retainer to officially reserve your due date on my calendar.
2. Schedule it
Prior to your session, you will receive a newborn session prep guide which will walk you through everything you need to know to prepare for your session. You will also receive a style board with inspiration for outfits for your entire family. You are welcome to borrow from my client wardrobe (60+ size inclusive dresses).
This is also the time for you to reach out to my preferred hair & makeup artist who will come to pamper you on your session day. You don't have to worry about a thing, all you have to do is show up with your sweet new babe, and we'll take care of the rest!
3. Planning it
Your newborn session takes place in my home studio in SE Portland, Oregon. We will create a variety of images together in a minimalist + natural way. We will laugh, have fun and give you so many beautiful moments to soak up your new baby. The whole family is always included at your newborn photo session.
Newborn sessions could last anywhere between 2-4 hours. We work at baby's pace to ensure they are comfortable + happy. Sessions with older siblings tend to take the full 4 hours. But don't worry, no one is in front of the camera that whole time! And there is a park nearby for older kids to go and get the wiggles out after their part of photo day is over.
4. Your Session
About 3 weeks after your session, we will schedule a time for you to view your images via an online reveal + ordering appointment. You will have 48 hours to view your images, select your favorites, and decide on artwork. This all takes place from the comfort of your own home.
Purchased digital images are delivered within 24 hours of placing your order and artwork is ready for delivery in about 6-8 weeks. I'll schedule a time with you to deliver everything to your home. Making the entire process as easy as possible for you.
5. Your Photographs

Pricing is simple. A non-refundable session fee of only $300 is collected upon booking your session. This covers my time and talent for planning and preparing for your session and access to my client wardrobe. All digital images and heirloom artwork are purchased during your online viewing and ordering appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions & Answers
When should I book my Portland, Oregon newborn photography session?
I recommend reaching out in your second trimester to reserve your due date on my calendar. I often book out 3-6 months in advance. For sleepy newborn photos, I recommend scheduling your session in the first 7-14 days after birth. However, it’s never too late to photograph your baby. I’ve photographed babies at all ages. So, no matter how old they are we will get some beautiful images of your baby. Just know that the older they are the more awake they will be.
How long do newborn sessions last?
Newborn portrait sessions take anywhere between 2-4 hours depending on how baby is doing. We follow baby's lead. I allow for more time than might be needed in case baby needs extra feedings, diaper changes, or some snuggles. Following all of my suggestions on how to get a sleepy baby typically allows us to get the session done in 2 hours. If there you are having multiples or there are older siblings in the mix sessions do typically take the full four hours.

Newborn sessions take place at my home studio in SE Portland, Oregon - near the Woodstock neighborhood.
Will you help us with hair & make-up?
Yes, I will connect you with my hair and make-up artist, who you can book directly. She is amazing and will help you look and feel your best for your session. She specializes in enhancing and highlighting your natural features so your makeup is subtle and looks perfect for the camera. Even if you don’t typically wear a lot of makeup, I highly recommend scheduling with her because she knows what looks good on camera. amazing and will pamper you a bit before your session helping you to look and feel your best!
Will you help us figure out what to wear?
Absolutely! My goal is to make your portrait experience as stress-free as possible. After you complete the booking process we'll set up a zoom planning call to discuss outfits for the entire family. I also have a feminine wardrobe with over 60 dresses (sizes XS-XXXL) and a baby wardrobe for sizes 0-18 months. Together, we'll make sure everyone looks and feels their best for the photo session.
Are digitals included in our Portland newborn session?
Digital images can be purchased during your reveal and ordering appointment. Most of my clients choose to purchase their digital images in addition to heirloom albums and custom framed artwork. I encourage you to really think about how you want to enjoy your images 10, 20 years from now. How do you plan on displaying your images in the future? I'm here to help you bring your photos to life in your home, making sure they don't get lost on outdated technology.
