Blue Camas Lilies speckled the wide open space, a wooden plank path ran through the middle, and trees surrounded the us on all sides. When I got through the initial wooded area and discovered the first open meadows at the Camassia Natural Area and viewed this amazing site; I just knew that this was going to be absolutely PERFECT for the maternity session we were going to do here in a few days with Cynthia and her family.
Prior to our session, Cynthia texted me a photo of the outfits she had picked out for her, her husband, Dan, and their daughter, Mabel. And I just knew they would look amazing amongst these gorgeous wildflowers in this wide open space.
Most families opt for an outdoor maternity session, which can be so beautiful when we have a gorgeous sunset. Especially in the summertime when we have countless options for wildflower fields! And thankfully for us, we had ALL of it for this session, beautiful wildflowers, amazing weather and a gorgeous sunset to boot!
I was so excited when I saw the three of them walk up in their coordinated outfits. Mabel especially looked super adorable in her light blue dress and her pink cowboy boots. I have to say her outfit really tied the whole family together.
We walked through the wooded area, chatting and getting to know each other a bit better. I loved learning more about Dan and Cynthia’s new business venture – Crossfit Woodslawn. I always love hearing about people following and pursuing their passions, which for Dan, opening up a Crossfit gym has been a long time dream. And they recently made his dream a reality. If you are in the Multnomah Village area, go check them out!
Lots of fun was had as we meandered through this amazing nature preserve. And I just loved watching Dan and Mabel interact with each other, you can surely tell these two have loads of fun together. Dan really helped get Mabel to laugh while putting her up on his shoulders and then doing squats with her up there. I had a blast documenting the laughter between the two of them! And we of course got some solo photos of Cynthia and her bump along with the one Mama wanted most of all, Mabel interacting with the bump!
I hope you have as much fun looking through these photos as we had taking them!
Check back next week for a little peak at the newest addition to this sweet family, officially making them a family of FOUR! ❤️
